Lab 7 Assignment: Web Mapping with QGIS2Web.
Part 1 – Installing Web Mapping Plugin
Question 1. Write and run a SQL Statement to get the point feature table, “Homicides in 2019”. Load it to the map canvas in QGIS. What is the total number of homicides in 2019 in DC (10pts)? Hint: Use select and create table statement
CREATE TABLE homicidein2019 AS
WHERE offense = 'HOMICIDE';
Total number of Homicides: 165
Question 2. Write and run a SQL Statement to get the polygon feature table, Homicides in 2019 by police service area. Use spatial join with the “Police Service Areas” polygon feature table and the “Homicides in 2019” point feature table. Note that you need to keep all the features (aka. Records) of “Police Service Areas”. The total number of the features is 56. Load this layer to the map canvas in QGIS (15pts).
SELECT p.id, p.psa, p.name, p.geom, p.web_url, COUNT(c.id) AS cntCrimes
FROM police_service_areas p
LEFT OUTER JOIN crime2019 c
ON ST_Contains(p.geom, c.geom)
AND c.offense ='HOMICIDE'
GROUP BY p.id
ORDER BY cntCrimes DESC;
Question 3. View your web map in a browser. Make a screenshot and submit it (30pts).
I like using www.myosvi.com So I uploaded the GEOG670 Lab7 assignment to ;
Question 4. Export the web map and upload and publish it on your TerpConnect account. View the web map in a browser. Make a screenshot and submit it (45pts).
For this part of the assignment I decided to do a distance to the Hotels from the Cuddihy Field analysis.
I decided to use the direct FTP export option rather than going through the FileZilla like I did earlier.
